Hi and welcome to our little corner of the world!
We’re a family struggling to deal with food sensitivities and beliefs on what God says is not good to eat, which lead us to raising chickens for eggs, which led to meat chickens, which lead to goats, which led to a small strawberry patch which lead to – homesteading and becoming self-sufficient. That lead to purchasing 13 acres in the South after doctors told me I have Fibro.
This blog started out as something else, but has slowly morphed into what our tag line says. We’ve just started and have a long way to go, but we’re taking it one day at a time and one season at a time. I chronicle our struggles, what led us to emergency preparedness, and our successes and failures along with other things.
Since many “modern” medications make us sick, I began looking into herbals. When I saw how well they worked on my livestock, I added in our family pets and then ourselves. I have received certification as a Family Herbalist — the first step towards becoming a Clinical Herbalist.
